Center for Reproductive Rights
In-house digital design: Social Media, Web, and Email Design
The Center for Reproductive Rights (CRR) uses the power of law to advance reproductive rights as fundamental human rights around the world. The designs were created under the art direction of Katari Sporrong.
When the CRR underwent a full brand overhaul, there were a lot of things we needed to do. Logos needed to be translated, templates created, rules defined and infinite other creative tasks were on our plate; this was a great opportunity to show leadership, creative direction, and of course design skills!
Web Graphics and Photo sourcing/editing
CRR uses storytelling and activism to reach their audience, on their website you will see a stream of reproductive rights statements, news, and graphics; It is a delicate task to tell vulnerable stories like this, so image sourcing and photo editing are a big deal, we understood that vulnerability had to be protected, so discretion, dignity, and inclusivity were the values we kept in mind. Graphics include hero images, lightbox pop-ups, thumbnails, and feature story images.
Storytelling
A big goal was to give a voice to the victims of reproductive injustice, we know that storytelling can be so strong in aiding that objective. With this mini-campaign, we aimed to spread awareness and make an impact by letting those who need support know they are not alone. We used a clean illustration style to protect their privacy and promote inclusion. The design shows a minimalistic and profound quality to be approachable and memorable.
Social Media Graphics
The CRR has a strong social media presence, I built upon its strengths and designed graphics that generated a sense of urgency while maintaining it welcoming and inspiring. With the rebrand, I designed templates and defined the rules by which we could keep up designing fresh, on-brand images. The new guidelines aimed to portray the center in an editorial light, in order to establish authority in its field.
